The Challenge
Environmental monitoring was stuck in the industrial age. Professional air quality sensors cost $5,000+ and required specialized installation. Consumer 'smart home' devices showed you a number but couldn't explain what it meant or alert you when conditions changed. Most people had no idea what they were breathing — and even those who cared couldn't find an accessible solution. The few apps that existed were buggy, drained phone batteries, and lost Bluetooth connections constantly. Klaro's founders had the sensors; they needed an app that actually worked.
